North Carolina natives Gabriel and Sarah Sams met in 2012. They discovered many shared interests, with travel at the top of the list. In 2013, their interests took them to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, where Gabriel proposed. After a short engagement, they married three weeks before moving to Hokkaido, Japan. Collectively, they have navigated 28 countries across 6 continents.

Now they live in Uganda and serve as houseparents to 24 children who are impoverished or at-risk. –> Read their blog
